D Box

Litho-Lamination

When your product requires robust protection but the market demands top-tier design, litho-lamination is the only true solution. This process involves bonding (laminating) a high-quality printed top sheet onto a base of single-face corrugated board or greyboard.

At D Box, litho-lamination is the art of bonding. You get packaging with the structural integrity of a shipping box—capable of carrying heavy products, glass, or technical goods—while the exterior boasts the finish of a luxury magazine. This is the ideal solution for SRP (Shelf Ready Packaging), where the box serves both for transport and shelf display, communicating directly with the consumer.

Product Protection Without Compromising Aesthetics

Many clients believe they must choose between a beautiful box and a strong one. Litho-lamination eliminates this dilemma. This process conceals the raw, unsightly structure of corrugated board beneath a flawless offset print, providing your product with "armor" that sells.

Materials and Structure of Litho-Laminated Packaging

The quality of a litho-laminated box depends on the correct choice of "flute" (corrugated profile). Depending on the weight and sensitivity of your product, D Box offers lamination onto various types of substrates:

  • E-Flute (Microflute): Ideal for smaller packaging, cosmetics, and electronics. It features a finer structure and a more elegant cross-section.

  • B-Flute: A more robust cardboard for heavier products and larger shipping containers.

  • F-Flute: An extremely thin flute, often used as a substitute for solid board but offering superior structural strength.

We use specialized adhesives that ensure the top sheet does not delaminate from the substrate, even in high humidity conditions or during long-term storage. Furthermore, the precision of our sheet-to-sheet lamination machinery ensures perfect registration (alignment), which is crucial for the subsequent die-cutting and box-forming stages.
